What are some thoughts about draft?
How did your favorite team do?
Siemer: Fri May 15, 2009
I thought San Diego trade for a good linebacker, and i really glad for the picks, and i think that they are going to have a great season.!

i didnt really watch it because i really dont watch football unless it is a high school team. but i did hear about it and from what i was hearing, they were not to happy. that is the main reason i dont want to watch pro-sports because some people get into it way to much and then they get critical about what happened during the game or even what players played or who didnt or which ones suck and which ones dont. it is getting to the point where i dont even like to talk about football. not even to my parents or friends.
+Training RIGHT
DaCoach: Mon Dec 22, 2008
Much is said about training hard, but what about training right?
* Over-training can be hard on the joints!
* Consistent training at the right level is right.
Dawe-23: Mon Apr 27, 2009
she is right i have hurt my right knee because of training to hard and i have to wear a huge knee-brace on it during any of the sports i play and it is definately not the most comfortable thing to wear but it is better than me having to sit out the whole season because i tore the muscle in it or having to have surgery on it because of things. it is not fun to sit out because my freshman year of track i had to sit out for about 6-8 weeks because i almost tore my side ligaments. it was not fun and i wanted to go and run with everybody else but i couldnt because i had to let them fix themselves.i have also had to sit out of basketball because i almost tore my ligaments.

I agree with Jmma...during the summer at volleyball workout/conditioning I hurt my ankle doing the circuits. If it wasn't for Coach Witt, I probably wouldn't have gotten better before season started. I strained the tendons in my right ankle, so from now on I wear ankle braces. I wanted to continue hurt, but she told me to go home and rest a few days, ice it, wear my air cast, blah blah blah...a few days later I went back (on conditioning day) and felt better, but she was easy on me because that is how I hurt it in the first place.

In response to the last post, you should clarify your intent. " Injuries will pass and move on, and they are definitely not created because of training too hard". Injuries absolutely can be created by training too hard, especially when the protocol is inappropriate for the individual. There is no doubt that athletes need to train hard but more importantly they need to train smart and under the supervision of a QUALIFIED strength coach. The strength coach developing and implementing a program has to account for age, health history, areas of strength and weakness...etc. This is why it is assinine for a coach to go online or to a conference and then decide to implement a college or a professional program with his high school team. It simply does not work that way.
Thanks Aaron for creating this site, I look forward to the discussions.

You have to work hard no matter what. Injuries will pass and move on, and they are definitely not created because of training too hard.
Jturner: Tue Apr 14, 2009
Well if you are starting to work off of injury you jest got to start light and rebuild what you hurt
Siemer: Tue Apr 14, 2009
Yea how would you train right?
SuzyQ: Tue Dec 23, 2008
What is the best way to know what the right level of training is?

This has been especially true for me when recovering from injury.
+Media Turns The Sports World
Coach-Mac: Mon Dec 22, 2008
If you look at the world of sports like a globe, then the media would be the axis that the globe turns on. The media tells us who is the best, who should get a scholarship, and who... The media seems to miss the players allowing the star athletes to make plays. For instance, the linemen that are blocking for the number one recruit at running back, or the quarterback that is throwing beautiful balls to the star receiver. What about the men on the frontline allowing all of this to take place in the game of football? In the game of football there is always a team behind a coach, a quarterback behind a receiver, an offensive line in front of a running back, and a defensive line in front of a linebacker. If you have the passion to play college football there is a school out there for you. MyAthleticGuru will help you get the chance to play at the next level. MAG (MyAthleticGuru) has the knowledge and experience to help you achieve your athletic goals.
The media mostly focuses on Division I schools and athletes. The media fools us into thinking that you have to go to a Division I school to be successful. Who is to say that you can't be successful and have fun playing Division II and III football. Division II and III athletes are some of the best athletes in the world. These athletes are as passionate about the sport and love the game of football. Allow MAG to show you how to be your own media through our well prepared playbook.

many people watch football. but what about the other sports that exsist as well; basketball, volleyball, track, baseball and softball. the only people who watch those sports are the ones who play them. the only people who watch the olympics are the ones who run track. same with the other sports. if football can be famous why cant the other sports that you have to train for and get in shape. it is not realy fair for football players to get famous, it should be for every sport. yea you can get hurt but you can get injured from volleyball and basketball. you can get injured or injure someone else in track, baseball, and softball. people should really start to reconize that because you can do what you do in football in other sports as well. that should be something for many athletes to think about because you can injure yourself just walking down the hallway or sitting in a chair at school. anything can happen its just that people dont see that.
Kayla_25: Tue Apr 21, 2009
Don't get me wrong I love football, but I think I could live without it as long as I had volleyball. A world without volleyball it is the END of the world to me!
Chantelle-23: Fri Apr 17, 2009
what about all of the other sports like volleyball and track... doesnt anyone care about those because no one really talks or maybe even cares about them.
Siemer: Fri Apr 17, 2009
But football is a good sport to use as an example. Football is one of the worlds best sports. But there are other sports out there like basketball and track.
Coach-Mac: Thu Apr 16, 2009
Tim talk about the ways that the media is affecting Baseball and other sports.
Tim: Tue Apr 14, 2009
This is the problem. The world doesn't revolve around football.
